A Dancing Rose Ch. 2

The next morning, Cream and the girls all showed up at Amy's house. They had two and a half hours before their class would start that day and the girls had been determined to show Amy some of the moves they had learned so she would be ready to try them in the class. Amy cam out dressed in her new dance outfit Though she wore some red very short jeans to cover her dance underwear untill she was at dance class, The others were still wearing their everyday clothes, "Alright Amy, we have two and a half hours to teach you everything that we have learned already." Tikal said as the small group went to a nearby park. They went to a stone slab in the park that had a sign that read, "Dance Area." "This is where we always practice our routines before and sometimes after our class." Blaze said as she put her bag down with the other girls bags. They took their regular high heels off & puts on their high heeled tap shoes. They then walked on the stone stage as their tap shoes makes tapping & clicking noises. "Alright Amy, are you ready to start practicing?" Cream asked as the group stood on the stone stage. Amy slipped on her new high heeled tap shoes and joined her friends on the stone. "Alright, show me what you've got girls!" Amy said excited.

"Alright Amy. Let's start off easy. Try this out." Rouge said as she started to tap dance. Slap, tap, tap, clap, slap, clap, clap, tap, slap. "Ok, here I go." Amy said as she copied Rouge's example. Slap, tap, tap, clap, slap, clap, clap, tap, slap. "How was that?" Amy asked. "Good Amy. That was nice." Rouge said smiling. "Try this one out." cream said showing Amy her tap dance. Slap, tap, tap, slap, clap, tap, clap, slap, slap, clap, tap. Amy smiled as she then copied Cream's dance. Now try this. Said Blaze as she started her tap dance. Clap, tap, clap, tap, slap, clap, tap, clap, slap, tap, clap, tap, tap. Amy smiled as she then copied Blaze's tap dance.
"Now can you do this amy." said Tikal as she starts her tap dance. clap, tap, tap, clap, slap, tap, clap, clap, tap, slap, slap, clap, tap, tap, tap. AMy smiled & then copied Tiakl's dance. The girls kept this up for an hour, each one would show Amy a dance routine and she would then repeat it. Amy started to get use to the dance moves. "This is really fun guys. I think I've got this stuff down." Amy said sitting down. "Good, now we have some time to relax before we have to go across the city to the studio.

The girls made it to the studio with five minutes before their class was to start which gave the girls just enough time to change into their dance outfits before their teacher showed up. "Alright girls, as you know we have a new dancer joining us but I have even bigger news, we have been entered in the National Tap Dance Competition!" Ms. Tasha said excitedly to the girls.

"Really. Oh wow." Cream said jumping up and down. "Wow, we never get selected for the big time competitions." Blaze said happy. "So, in order to get ready for this competition, I've come up with a new routine. Also for this routine, each of you will have a section in the routine to complete a tap solo." Ms. Tasha said. "Alright girls, Are you ready to learn this new dance?" She asked to which all the girls answered excitedly. "Yes mam!"

Ms. Tasha then took her place in front of the girls and began to break down the new routine. It was the longest dance Amy had ever tried out. She was trying to stay in rhythm with the other's all while also trying to memorize her own parts and her solo section. Tapping & clicking noises were ringing around the room as the girls along their teachner tap danced in their high heeled tap dance shoes. When it came to the point that she had to do her solo section, she was having trouble mimicking her teacher's moves. The last part of the dance was a huge group finale & at one point duirng the finale involved doing high kicks, and Tasha had made absolute sure to break the finale up to ensure that the girls had enough time to try the finale. However, when the girls gave the entire dance a try, Amy had fallen behind the other girls in her steps and ended up tripping over her own shoes. She fell into Blaze, who in turn fell onto Tikal, who knocked over Cream who fell on Rouge. "Ow, what happened?" Rouge asked looking around. "Amy fell out of step." Cream said. "Heh, sorry girls. I tripped." Amy said. "Its ok Amy. This is only your first time tap dancing. I'm sure we can get you use to this before the competition next week." Ms. Tasha said placing a hand on Amy's shoulder. "The competition is next week." Amy repeated. "Yes, in a week." Tasha said. "I think we can stop for today. We can pick this up tomorrow afternoon girls." She said before the girls left to change.

"Well that was an interesting day for our class." Blaze said as the girls met outside the changing room. "Yeah, that was really something." Tikal said. Amy kept quiet. She didn't like the fact that she had tripped over her own feet and then caused the others to fall over as well. She had ruined the practice and it didn't help that they had a competition in a week. She had learned that the girls had never been entered in a competition before and she had ruined their practice. 'Today was horrible. What if I cant learn this dance? What if I cause them to trip at the competition like I did today.' These thought swirled around her mind as the girls left the studio. "Guys, I don't think this is going to work." Amy said looking down. "What are you talking about Amy. This was only your first try." Cream said looking at her pink friend. "I just dont think that I will be able to learn all of these moves in time and i dont want to ruin your chances of winning at the competition since its the first one you guys have ever been entered in." Amy said. "I'm not a tap dancer, but these high heels do at least make me seem cuter so thats a good thing right."

"Oh come on Amy, it was only your first day. We all already knew that you would probably mess up but that doesnt mean you should quit." Tikal said as the group came to a corner. "If you want Amy, Rouge and I can train you. We can give you some tips and exerices to help you learn the steps faster." Blaze offered. "It would probably be better than just quiting." The cat continued. "Alright. I'll give it another try." Amy said looking up. "That's the spirit Amy. If it might help, you can wear this." Blaze said holding the red jumper that she had suggested for Amy at the mall. "I know you said no to itbefore but i thought that maybe you could still use it in the future. So I bought it." She admited. "I'll give it a try Blaze." Amy said taking the jumper from the cat. "Alright then the three of us can head to the park to practice." Rouge said as Cream and Tikal went their own ways home. "See you guys later." The two girls said waving goodbye as the other three went to the park. Amy went to change in the bathroom into the jumper along with her red short shorts and her high heel tap shoes.

"Alright, we are going to give you some exercises to get you use to wearing those tap shoes." Blaze said as she and Rouge slipped on their tap dancing high heels. "First off, we are going to jog some laps around the park." Blaze said as the three lined up and started to jog aroung the track. Their tap shoes were making clap, slap, click, & tap noises as they jogged in their tap shoes. They jogged one lap and then picked up the pace to sprint the second lap and then cooled down the run by walking the last lap. Amy was already tired just from the run and it was only the first exercise that Blaze and Rouge had planned. After a short rest to allow themselves to regain their breaths, Rouge pulled out some jump ropes. "Alright Amy, next we're going to do some jump rope." Rouge said handing a rope to Amy and Blaze. The girls then began doing simple tricks while jump roping in their tap shoes making those stomping tap noises as they kept jump-roping. The girls kept this up for 15 minutes before doing some leg streches. After streching for a few minutes, the girls did some of their tap routines from class. They spent at least three hours at the park exercising and practising to help Amy before the girls decided to call it a day.
