A Dancing Rose Ch. 3

The next day, the girls went to their class where they tried their new routine once again. However this time, Amy was able to stay in rythem with the others and they managed to complete their routine. "Well done girls." Tasha said clapping. "Well done Amy. You have really improved." She said looking at the hedgehog. "I could'nt have done it without the help of my friends." She said happy to have completed the dance. Over the following days, the girls met with Ms. Tasha to practise their solos for the upcoming competition. The day before the competition, miss tasha gave the girls vouchers to get each their own fancy dance outfit for the dance competition and so all of the girls met to get their outfits for the competition. They all ended up getting a long sleeved tux jacket along with a button up white shirt and black bowties. As well as each girl buying a fancy pair of black dance underwear since the girls were going to show their bare legs for the contest. After buying the outfits, the girls met with Tasha to have one final rehersal for the competition. Each girl now had the same tux outfit on, the only difference between them was their tap dancing high heels as they wore the same high heeled tap shoes that they had during their classes.

"Alright girls this is the last rehersal that we will have before the competition tomorrow. I hope that your all ready." Tasha said as she stood in front of them. "Yes m'am, we are." was the reply by all of them. The teacher & the girls started the routine as their high heeled tap shoes makes those tapping & clacking noises as they tap danced. The rehersal took only half an hour, but the rest of the day seemed to zoom by for Amy. Before she knew it, she was standing backstage at the competition. She and the girls were all dressed, had their high heeled tap shoes polished & shiny and ready to perform. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, lets give a warm welcome to our next performance, the Station Square Dance Studio." The announcer said introducing the girls. "Please welcome Blaze the cat, Rouge the bat, Cream the rabbit, Tikal the echidna, and Amy Rose!" He said. "Alright girls, this is it. We've got this dance in the bag." Amy said as they went out onto the stage to perform. Each one believing that they had what it took to win the competition together.

The girls took their places on the stage as some music played. Blaze started off their routine before each of the girls joined in one at a time. Soon all of them were working together to show off the routine. Tap, slap, clap, clap, tap, slap, slap, tap, clap, slap, tap, tap, slap, clap, clap, tap, slap, slap, tap, clap, slap, tap. They had managed to create a complete rythem with one another and kept it in line until it came time for each girl to do their solos. Cream's solo was the very first one. Her solo was a very short one though, but she made it seem like it was just as complex as the other solos. Blaze had the next solo follwed closely by Tikal. Blaze finished her solo and then led the routine right into Tikal's solo. Their shoes never stopped moving and a continous tap slap and clap rythem sounded through the entire room. Rouge had her own flavor added to her solo as she did even more spins and tricks to her tap dancing. Finally, Amy's turn came for her solo.

The other girls all backed up as Amy took the center stage. She started her solo with some simple tap steps. Tap slap slap clap tap. After that she decided to add her own motions to her solo. She would twirl around every now and then while tapping her shoes to make the right sounds. She ended her solo with a spin and then signaled to the others to jump back in as the girls prepared for their finale. They got back into their pattern as they then grouped together. They then started to perform the high kicks as they continously kick their lovely bare legs gracefully, They did a few more steps as a group before they did a finish of one last step before Amy and Cream knelt down to one knee and the others stood behind the two as a finishing gesture. The crowd went wild with clapping and cheering for the group.

The girls then went backstage again and watched as the remaining groups performed their own routines as well. When the final group had finished the announcer took the stage once again. "Well ladies and gentlemen, was that something or what?" He asked as the crowd clapped. "Now, although we saw a lot of great dancers, only one group can win the trophy. Lets let the judges debate on the groups and we will have our winner soon." He said as the judges talked over the dances. It took only a few minutes before they walked up with the winner. "Alright, everyone. It was a tough choice to make but we have our winner. We would like to take this moment to give a round of applause to all of our performers." The head judge said as the crowd clapped for all the dancers on the stage. "And now, the winners of this years National Tap Dance Competition is..."He continued as a drumroll went off. All of the groups held their breaths. "...The Station Square Dance Studio!" He said as the girls screamed hearing their group won. They all came to the front as he handed them the trophy, each girl held it up with one hand.
